Our first destination is the Medeo Gorge, known for hosting the highest mountain sports complex at an altitude of 1691 meters. This picturesque gorge attracts locals and visitors alike, offering a retreat from the bustling city. Take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Medeo ice rink, which is often a popular spot for ice skating and other winter sports.

Returning to Almaty, we visit the Zenkov Cathedral, a remarkable architectural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful landmarks in the city. Marvel at the intricate design and vibrant colors of this Orthodox cathedral, which has stood as a symbol of faith for over a century.

Next, we head to Kok Tobe, the highest point in Almaty. This hill offers an incredible panoramic view of the city from all directions. To reach the top, we take a scenic cable car ride that takes us over some of the oldest parts of Almaty, as well as the stunning fruit-growing gardens. Once at the summit, you can admire the iconic 372-meter TV Tower, which is visible from afar and offers stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains and the city. Explore the various attractions at the top, including souvenir shops, restaurants, and even an amusement park.

The day will conclude with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of Kazakh cuisine. Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

On the second day, we will set off from Almaty and embark on a scenic journey to Altyn-Emel National Park, which spans a distance of approximately 300 kilometers. Altyn-Emel National Park is renowned for its stunning landscapes and unique geological formations. Our first stop will be at the “singing” sand dune, nestled between the grand Big and Small Kalkan Mountains. This enchanting sand dune is composed of fine sand particles that emit a mesmerizing sound resembling the music of an organ when the wind blows through it. After enjoying the wonders of the singing sand dune, we will continue our journey to the charming village of Basshy, which is located in close proximity to Altyn-Emel National Park. As we delve into these mountains, we will witness the remnants of ancient animals, including crocodiles, turtles, giant rhinoceroses, and prehistoric predators, dating back 25-30 million years ago. After immersing ourselves in the wonder of the Aktau Mountains, we will return to the serene village of Basshy. Here, we can take the opportunity to relax, soak up the tranquil atmosphere, and reflect on the natural marvels we have encountered throughout the day.

After breakfast, we will depart from the village of Basshy and head towards the magnificent Charyn Canyon, approximately 150 kilometers away. The scenic drive will take around 2-3 hours, allowing you to soak in the beautiful landscapes along the way.

The Charyn Canyon is a true natural wonder, renowned for its stunning rock formations and vibrant colors. We will have the opportunity to explore the canyon and walk along the banks of the Charyn River, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking scenery.

Following our visit to the Charyn Canyon, we will continue our journey towards Kaindy Lake. The distance from the canyon to the lake is approximately 180 kilometers, which will take around 2-3 hours to travel. Kaindy Lake is a picturesque oasis nestled amidst the mountains, offering crystal-clear waters and captivating surroundings. Located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level, the lake was formed in 1911 when an earthquake triggered a landslide, creating a natural dam that flooded the valley with water and formed the enchanting lake.

After taking in the beauty of Kaindy Lake, we will make our way to the village of Saty, situated approximately 40 kilometers away. The drive will take around 1 hour, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable journey.

Upon arrival in Saty, we will settle into our accommodation at a cozy guesthouse, where you can unwind and relax after an adventurous day.

Throughout the day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided, ensuring that you have the energy to fully experience and appreciate the natural wonders of Charyn Canyon and Kaindy Lake. Upon arrival in Jyrgalan, we will settle into our accommodations, which may include cozy guesthouses or traditional yurts, providing a unique and authentic experience. Once settled, we can take some time to explore the village and immerse ourselves in the peaceful atmosphere.

Jyrgalan is renowned for its excellent horseback riding opportunities, and we will have the chance to embark on a scenic horse ride through the stunning mountainous landscapes surrounding the village. Riding through meandering trails, we can soak in the beauty of the natural surroundings and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

After enjoying a relaxing time in Altyn Arashan, we will head towards Karakol, a charming city located on the eastern shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. The first stop will be a meeting with a berkutchi – a traditional eagle hunter who hunts with the help of an eagle. Next, we will make an atmospheric stop at the Ak Sai Canyons. Here, we will take a gentle stroll to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views. Upon returning, we will have the opportunity to swim in Lake Issyk-Kul, one of the largest alpine lakes in the world. We will then have lunch in the town of Kochkor.

Afterwards, we will continue our journey towards Lake Son Kul. Located at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level, this large mountain lake is nestled between the inner ranges of the Tian Shan mountains. It is a potential destination for eco-tourism, offering pristine natural beauty. At 29 kilometers in length and a maximum depth of 14 meters, Lake Son Kul provides a truly remarkable sight.
